Very nice score there Nick.
Nick: That engine is too nice to part out. Very lucky to get it! I like the original patina.
For Bing bases, does a metal base vs wooden base denote different years or was it dependent on model?
With the BW logo, clearly it's a later one. But I have some wood based ones with the same logo.

I don't have any plans of parting out, just meant that it had plenty of good parts to far exceed the hammer price

Unfortunately I am not very knowledgeable on Bing model numbers or years, and only have a few catalogs...
I thought I had it's wreck of a twin brother here on the shelf, but I took a look just now and that one has a cast engine base and looks like a longer boiler without the steam dome. Guess I have to keep them both now
I thought about this one from Germany. I think the stamped boiler front is an intriguing feature. I quite like Bing engines.
I've got a few with the other style endcap, this one came from Robin Corsiglia's collection back in '09, sure wish I could have bought more of his engines!

Nice engine😊 You got a bargain there.
A lovely Bing engine Nick.
Good buy on your Ebay engine Nick but I think I'm in love with your '09 purchase - it's special!
Heck of a bargain Nick...every so often such a thing comes along, but seems to happen less frequently than it did 10 years ago.
Rog
Well done Nick.
A nice bargain IMHO.
Thanks for posting the pictures of the 2009 purchase from Robin C.
The "Bargain Bing" has arrived, but I have notices something strange... it appears to have extra holes in the base and marks from a different sized firebox...
