But not an engine, and no Charlie, not the swings!
Some of you may remember Russ K (Roozle) that had his step-son's father's collection for sale back in 2013 near Chicago. He was recently laid off and selling a few of his last items. I seen this right away when it popped up on ebay and sent an offer which was quickly accepted. I actually looked at this book back in March of '13 when I bought his twin Empire and several other pieces, but he wasn't selling the book at the time. Of course my ebay alert told me about the book the following morning

Very happy to FINALLY have one and at a reasonable price.
Very nice Nick ..... now you can expect to get PMs asking to look things up for those of us that haven't been so lucky!
BTW .... That wasn't gotten at a "reasonable price", it was stolen in a high crime approaching Grand Larceny!!!

That was the starting bid price, I don't know why ebay does that... I ended up offering $35 which to a non-collector is probably an unbelievable price fort something like this. But, you could still say stolen as they have gone over $100 at times.

This is what you see not signed into my account:

And when logged in, you can see the actual sale price. We may be thinking others are getting better deals than they are when "make offer" is available. I wanted to try for less, but if anyone else seen the listing and placed a starting bid, it would kill the "make offer" button, so I tried my luck at $35
Yup , pretty much a bargain, Well Done Nick !

Nick, I always thought when someone made a bit it killed the BIN as well, but have had several items I've bid on sold.
And in a couple of cases, the seller cancelled the listing to get rid of my bid, then relisted the item- and of course then immediately accepted an offer. Oooh, I was as pis sed off as a cat with it's tail under the rocker.
Congrats Nick!
A steal at that price.
At most any price .... actually obtaining one of these mythical volumes is akin to finding "The Grail" ..... or so it seems anyway.
Sorry to hear Russ is suffering from Wuhan Flu Fallout ... I well remember those heady days when he came on the "other" Forum with a "candy store" full of delicious treats and visual delights. I know I seriously overspent my budget at that time, and didn't get even a fraction of what I would have liked to get, even though they were bargains all, but still am glad for what I did get .... over extended or not!
Found my March 2013 re-cap:
I got up and went to work early at 4am so I could be done by noon.
Then I headed for a little drive down in the Chicago area, about 5 1/2 hrs away.
Met up with Russ and seen the collection he's selling off and may have picked up a few.
Just got home now at 2 am. Been on the road too many hours so I'm off to bed...
Nice haul Nick ...... the double Empire has to be the centerpiece of that grouping!

Thanks Daniel, it was high up on the want list, but the one I went there for was the mint Bowman M130 hiding in the back
Actually, there are many mouthwatering delectables in that photo .... the Buckman, several of those accessories, the Mamod flatbases .... yes indeed, YUMMMMMMMMMM!!!!!!!!
That was quite a haul Nick.
You are definitely a Road Warrior!
That really is a road warrior Nick!
What does he haul with it?
