I never liked the all red flywheel...

I was planning this modification and you guys beat me to it...Well Done!
The other thing I am thinking of is carefully mask around the cooling fins only and bead or sand blast the fins. I like the look of the black paint but old Harley trick is cooling fins work more efficiently without paint...also sand blast finish is "slightly" more efficient than polished fins...but not much so If you want to polish it's all good.
I'm shopping for a deal on a Peanut Rider right now.
I found that on Amazon Thursday and it's on the way here. I think I'll do the shiny wheel treatment when it get's here.
How did you strip it?

Put it on a rod, stuck it in the cordless drill and sanded, working my way to 600 grit wet & dry, then switched to 0000 steel wool and polish. I stopped at 220 on the side as I liked the lines it left, giving a nice contrast between the red paint and the polished outside rim.
The flywheel is concaved in the center and they aren’t the best finish under the paint... but it looks way better. If done in a lathe you’d have to remove quite a bit material to get it flat.
Thank you, yours looks really good like that. If it works out for me, I might do the to my Ericsson.
