• This is my newest acquisition -
  Wooden figures 2 dimensional from the Erzgebirge East Germany. These are from the 1950s and are all handmade. I find they fit very well to decorate steam engines drive models such as windmills and hammer mills. They are a kind of primitive folk art that's what make them sympathetic...

• Those are very nice, Arnold. They seem similar to some of the two-dimensional figures I have on my layout. Mine are perhaps Spenkuch grotesque figures but I'm not sure? I like to display figures with my steam engines. I tried to post photos of my figures but i keep getting an error:  The upload folder is full. Please try a smaller file and/or contact an administrator.

  Are these figures from the same region in Germany where the Noah’s Ark play sets were made?

  Charlie, I do not know where Noah's Ark sets were made - the production of my figures
  ended ca. 1960. I have this information about "Eresthi wooden toys"

  COMPANY WAS TAKEN OVER BY ALFRED BERTHOLD AND GEORG
  ZÖLLNER AND AFTER THE
  WORLD WAR 2 IN 1945 THE COMPANY WAS
  NATIONALIZED (German Democratic Republic)
  (VEB FAMOS LEIPZIG) WHERE THEY REMAINED UNTIL EARLY

  Yes they look very similar - but I guess yours are made from sheet metal
  or zin - zinc. But they are also hand painted and possible older than mine.
  Anyway very beautiful and decorative, Arnold
