Finally got around to cutting out a few brass Empire whistles yesterday they came out pretty good need to fine tune the sound.
Empires surely do seem to lose their whistle shells real regular. At a guess, only one in every three or four Empires that I have bought over the years has come with its whistle whole and intact.
Looks like they are substantially thicker walled then the originals, which seem almost paper thin, so your new ones ought to hold up as good as the rest of the solidly built Empire engines.
Nice work in making a bunch of replacements .... they sure look good from here!
Yep most of them are gone when ya get the engine
Thanks boss
Bonjour Empire,
I envy your skillness as I pay a fortune for all the whistles I install on my babies.
My current job consists exactly in adding one on an ilnlet pipe because there is no possibility to install it on the boiler :

I don't know what you were saying in the video but I got the idea I thank that will work very well
Thanks boss
Great job Stuart.
I could use a few of them.
Maybe we can arrange a trade when we get past this virus. 🤠
Still no reported cases within 50 miles of us.
Ya will make you some it don't take long to make a bunch. Were still hunkered down on the farm ant saw anybody in 22 days . We got a big sign on the gate saying don't come in here we will shoot your +++ . We ant had any takers on that offer yet and hope we don't. I just worry about my wife she went back to work in the ER last week. We don't have any of the virus around here yet
Be good Boss
What is the inside diameter, they are very similar to Weeden whistles that are 1/4" ID.
Bonjoru Frank,
I would say about 20 mm (+/- 0.65") and it is a home made whistle so no reference to any manufacturer.
