Jewel from 1903
« on: March 05, 2022, 11:14:27 am »
Got this beautiful Jewel today from Vienna Austria.
It looks like a little steam engine but it is a
Cigar Cutter. The funny is there is also a compass
and a thermometer. The fire door is a little compartment
for matches. If you turn the fly wheel a cigar will be
cut when holding it into the cylinder. Very sweet and rare

enjoy, Arnold ;D

Hi Arnold
I love it so clever you will now need to get some real Cuban cigars to try it out.

Regards Paul.

That's one of the neatest "steam punk" accessories I've ever seen (or heard of)

Well, Arnold, "Urs Portmann" in Kreuzlingen, Thurgau, CH,  offers a wide range of Cuban and other cigars in his "walk-in humidor"- but I see the danger that with this cute device you will inevitably cut more cigars than you will be able to smoke... ;)

Thank you - very nice also the Plank and you can cut the cigar
within the chimney - funny - there was one at a Swiss Auction for 289.00 Swiss francs.
There are some nice pictures:
