How long could you keep it idling like that?
I've actually thought about raising the base so that the original burner sits quite a bit lower but haven't done anything to try that experiment as yet.
A little water in the denatured alcohol could also go some ways toward cooling the flame.
Happened to be 70% alcohol I had handy. As to runtime I only ran a short test but was having no trouble holding rpm. With experimentation I am sure a pleasing rpm setup could be fashioned.
