(Disclaimer) No D21 boilers were killed in the making of this orphan ! If anyone here has read my posts, you know I like stand alone engines . I have always admired the Wilesco D21 engines , but I didn't really want the whole plant , so , I bought this assembly directly from Wilesco . Incidentally If you haven't shopped at the Wilesco website , you should take a look . They list a lot of different engine assemblies at very reasonable prices . I can't say the same about shipping , but what are you going to do ? Anyway, back to the D21 . I added some plumbing and a lubricator , I also rerouted the exhaust out the side of the base . I had never seen a D21 in the flesh before , and assumed they were more or less a gussied up D16 type engine , but I was pleasantly surprised to see it is much larger . Maybe because it has a larger flywheel , or bigger displacement , the thing runs so nice and smooth . It also seems to use less steam. Here are a few pics. I put it to work on the double stamper .
