Hello,
I just completed this side lever steam engine model.
This type of steam engine was used on European side wheel steamboats in the 1850's. The plans came from Home Shop Machinist magazine in 2008. It was interesting to build as there were many very small parts. The plans were metric, so I had to do a lot of conversions. It took about a year to build, and all the work was done in my home shop.
Hope to see some of you at the Cabin Fever show in January.

Bonjour Scott,
I agree with the other members and would that this machine would deserve a steam test

excellent craftmenship - congrats - very nice model
I have made a model from castings designed by Lothar Matrian Germany.
It is a double beam model with a drive wheel for a paddle steamer -
therefore it has a fork connecting rod in the center of the crankshaft.
