Hi guys new to the page I just picked up this item I was told a teacher used it to show how steam engines worked it was hooked up to an electric motor any I fo would be great thanks
Wow, that looks to be a super nice engine of the horizontal mill style with Stephenson reversing linkage. Very reminiscent of the PMR #1 but it looks to be somewhat larger if my eye is scaling from your photos correctly.
That is really some fine engine you have there!!!
Oh yeah and BTW .........WELCOME to the Forum.
Greetings and warm welcome from St. Paul In. Oohwee...that's very nice, not sure of the builder but that's got a lot of nice features. It'd be welcome on my shelves.
Thank you both, I'm not a big enthusiast in steam memorabilia so if anyone knows anything about it or wants more pictures let me know
This was likely home made by a machinist as their hobby, the quality is really beautiful, and is almost museum level in my opinion. It's impossible to know if all the parts are inside to allow it to run on steam or compressed air. Some members of this forum are more than capable and willing to work on engines and could evaluate if it needs anything to be a running engine. If your intent is for it to grace a shelf, it certainly does that already! Just don't turn it into a lamp please haha!
Thank you for the info I definitely don't want it to be turned into a lamp lol id like it to go to someone who will take care of it

I think it fairly safe to assume that anyone on this Forum would certainly be interested in properly maintaining that beautiful machine!
