Made a finger joint box today for the first time, used a regular table saw blade but have a Dado blade on order.
It`s kind of a pain in the butt with all the flip here and turn there but we got er done.
Plan on making a couple pistol boxes.

Very Nice! and Very Impressive!
Thanks Nick, i gotta fit the top a little better but though it was a aggravation the first time it should be easier next time.
I like the idea of pistol boxes, please share those pics when you make them
very nice joints .
A little bit of useless help
I used to glue the top to the sides so a completely. Sealed box
Scribe lines for hinges the with table saw cut the lid off with a little bit of the side 1/2 inch or so down .
This gives a good fit and helps to prevent the lid warping .
Cheers
Dennis
Would never have suspected that this was a first, very well done Lenn !!!
I agree .... very nice especially first time trying.
A fellow once said it always good to be very good and even better to be very good and lucky!
Well done, Lenn!

That turned out good Lenn - looking forward to seeing your pistol boxes.
very fine joinery Lenn, would have never suspected it was your first venture in this area.
Thanks Bruce, it`s not to hard after getting the jig set right and ya figure out the sequence of turning and flipping them.
I`m going to try some more today and it will be neat when i get the Dado blade so i can make wider fingers.
