The bayo in the picture is a replica WW1 , here`s a original Oneida Cutlery which i was lucky to find at a good price. 10 inch.
Thing about me is i don`t have much money so when i get something special it means something, no points just a servant of God.

What's that symbol between the US stamped on the bayonet, I've always wondered what it is.
Could it be the United States
Probably wasn't clear enough with my question Lenn.
I've put an arrow to this little mark between the U and the S on the hilt of the bayonet.
Hope the arrow is clear enough to see.

My mistake, they call it the flying bomb, what it means would call for a search.

Thank Lenn I always thought it was a bomb (like some early hand grenade) I'll do a Google and see what I can find.
Hope this doesn't give you the wrong impression of me but guess I've got to tell my real life bayonet story. I was on the bayonet course in infantry training down at Fort Jackson S.C. in August 1967 when the company drill sergeant took a dislike to the way i was looking at him after a stupid comment of his. He proceeded to hit me with his helmet liner knocking off my glasses and skinning up the bridge of my nose pretty good. Without thinking as we'd been taught I gave him an automatic horizontal butt stroke to the head (missed but caught him on the shoulder) and then stooped down to pick up my glasses (when you're half blind your glasses become real important). Looked up and there he came again so realizing I was in deep doo doo backed up to the nearest tree and assumed the position. Everybody's yelling and running at me but guess when they saw the bayonet they had second thoughts. Luckily the good guy captain showed up, got me and everyone else calmed down, and invited me to the orderly room when we got back to the company area. Thought I was still in trouble but to my surprise the drill sergeant was there and proceeded to apologize and there was never anything said about it again and nothing on my record. Scary when you think how your mindset can change over the course of a few months turning you into something you never thought you could be. I remember the drill sergeant's chant on the bayonet course - "What's the spirit of the bayonet?" ("To kill") What are you?" ("Killers")! It was a close thing for a couple of minutes!
Thanks Nick.
Larry that`s quite a story but i see why anyone would think badly of you that`s what i`d of done also.
Pitchy had I known you were looking for one of these I would've gladly sent you an original. I have no less than 3 of these, maybe more packed away. It seems like when I was growing up these were commonplace at every swap meet and yard sale.
Thanks for the kind offer Sir, may take ya up on that later.
Nice pair of rifles Lenn. That is a good grouping, especially with iron sights.
Thanks for showing the video.
Thanks Steven, my eyes are bad so the front sight is a blur so hard to get real accurate, i have to say the Garand sights are some of the best.
