…it starts with an MDF small block, what do I do with it ?

Cheers,
Danny
PS.
It seems that a lot of people start to worry why they didn't hear from me lately.
As I explained to Gil and Nick, precious free time is the main cause.
Also spring time is here, this means extra work for me anyway.
But don't worry the stach of restoration projects keeps on growing everyday.
I'm stumped... the corners look freshly rounded
Maybe bend some brass around it, and silver solder it closed

…
I can't guess as I've already seen the finished product...
… well you put a roof on it and a ground plate, and look it fits on a 1929 Meccano…

Followed by a pipe and a screw lid…

Dropped for a short period in blueing agent…
And we have a nice weathered fitting in burner…

The restoration is all about this beauty, 3 essentials where missing.
Burner, motor and gears

Burner is made now, somebody had the gears for me, next step will be the motor…
to be continued…
Cheers,
Danny
Lovely work on the burner Danny. Can’t wait to see more of your restoration skills.
Today a lot was done, the base plate painted, the motor made and everything put together.
So time to let it run again…
https://youtu.be/smXa3FdWMuEI still have to make a handle for the forward revers leaver.
Photos follow soon...
These old meccano riveted boilers always look just so nice.
Danny nice work on the base plarte and motor. The riveted meccano boilers always look great.
Another successful restoration Danny.
You are the master!
Thanks for the detailed explanation and video.
Regards,
Thank you all for the nice comments on the engine.
It's a nice little joy to have in the collection.
The handle is made so I can finally say, restoration completed.
Although the Meccano decal is still missing, but I'm working on it…
So here are the photos…

Cheers,
Danny
Wonderful Danny and enjoyed seeing this run.
