I need to make a crowned type pulley for an early Stuart type dynamo
If anybody can help on dimensions please I would be grateful
Thank you
Stuart
My Stuart dynamo has what appears to be a combination pulley mounted on its 5/32" shaft. There is a round belt pulley groove which has a max. O.D. of 3/4" that is 7/32" wide and contains a groove .100" wide, with a 9/16" diameter at the groove bottom. Outside of that is a collar section for a flat belt with a 3/8" O.D. that is 9/32" wide, with a single tiny slotted setscrew, and showing no crown.
Hope that is of some help.
Thanks reply
This may help
Here's some images captured off the internet, that show just the kind of combo pulley that my Stuart dynamo has mounted.
Note that one of the images in B&W looks to be an official ST catalog image.
It may be that the image you show has been turned down to the crowned wide flat belt configuration from the original pulley, or from stock material. Or perhaps the wide flat belt only pulley was an option as well?

Hello Stuart,
I've measured the crown pulley on my 1934 Stuart dynamo and the highest point of the
crown is 0.750" going down to 0.685" at the ends, the length is 0.665".
You can see it on my Bassett Lowke Lighting Plant in the video section hope this helps.
Trevor.
