Here is my 1" scale 2-4-4-2 Skookum style loco on the St Croix Highline on July 3, 2024.  Copper boiler, propane fired, you can hear the burner roar.  This one requires a fine balance between draft, throttle position, and fuel pressure to maintain proper boiler pressure.  It took me a couple of laps to get it right. Having 4 cylinders it has a healthy appetite for steam, but a very fun locomotive to operate.

Baldwin built 2 or 3 of these 2-4-4-2s, and they were generally not successful.  One prototype exists and was recently restored and runs on a tourist RR in California. Just google Skookum, as was it's nickname.
