Bowman #265 Mod
« on: July 03, 2021, 07:33:39 pm »
I apologize to the purists out there this #265 has sat in a box for ten years waiting for a boiler, since one never appeared I decided to use this Weeden boiler and get her back running.

I think it looks great :)
The size of that Weeden boiler fits the loco perfectly, and although the exterior "plumbing" is different it looks very nicely executed.
Well done bringing this one back to life Frank!
Cheers

Well done on getting it running again .
As for the boiler  no problems there as you have to do what you can .
But for looks i would route the steam line down the side of the boiler and along the chassis inside the fire box .

Cheers

I like it, and it is well done.  Out-of-the-box thinking is my style,
and it brings a smile.

Nice work Frank, probably a very slim chance of finding an original and the one you chose looks to be a very good fit  8)

Does your burner have weight in it?

Unfortunately not, this burner has one pipe in the centre, unlike my #234 that has two pipes so can't use that one as I don't want to drill another hole in it. I may just fill it with fishing weights for now as it needs something.
