Is a model airplane engine running the yellow diesel at the beginning?

Yes, it drives a generator that supplies power to the electric motors on the bogies.  The model is very slow but extremely powerful and noisy and smelly!

That's cool. Do you know if the engine has a muffler? Is it started with a pull-string of some sort?
