Please do, it would be nice to meet you in person after knowing you from the Mamod forums for a few years. I will publish the running dates in a post on this thread. 😊

Many hands helping means you will get it in great shape for the future...huge project, but worthy of the time, effort and cost.

Another workday at Tees Cottage Railway. More work on the turntable by Lee Bailey and Derek Forster, to strengthen and add support for when the bar is used to push it around. Also completed one of the lift up ends to stop the turntable dragging, with the prep work completed for the other end.

After a couple months of sleeper replacement, it was a change for me to do a spot of digging. The section laid next to the telegraph poles has been dug out to the level of the sleepers, this means that there is no risk of carriages/riding trucks fouling the soil.

A Stirling effort today by Tees Cottage Pumping Station Dave Smart & his Northumbrian Water volunteer team, opening up possibilities for new steaming bays and storage expansion - thanks guys!

The turntable now ready to run. Just a rub down and paint and will be looking smart 😊

The shed road received a little ballast to fill in the gaps and to make a firm base for the freshly painted carriages to come out and play.

Itīs us too to build a nearly complete new track : after a felling Action of three ill trees on the property of our MES we had to  renew a lot of track and landscape . Nowadays after  six working Weekends we have some new track layed out to get the ball running at Summer , but it is still a lot to do  Please feel free to see the enormous effort invested untill today at https://www.minibahn-emden.de/ to see the tremendous  effort done in the last two months From Bomb crater back to landscape with rails  Needs a bit new green but otherwise it really made a lot of progress.
cheers Joe

Thanks for your Kind worrds. Most People who like to be pulled arround by our beloved Little Trains donīt even know that thereīs a lot of  MOW to do . RC modellers with cars planes and boats  havenīt to build a new infrastructure like the Railway enthusiasts have to do but I suppose it is worth the effort because if there are no rails , journeys are impossible.

cheers Joe

I couldn't attend the workday on Saturday, but here are the photos and video of the days working.

It's all about trackwork, there will not be much more trackwork this winter, as we are due to open for public running on the 21st April 😊

Yes one is the up line, the other is the down line. There is a turntable at each end of the track, for turning the locos and carriages

This shows the track layout better. The tracks merge at the boiler house wall and both share the innermost rail as their outside rail. Turntable and sidings at both ends. And then a shed road to the club house where a couple of coaches are stored.

A bit more track tinkering tonight.

Work on the turntable completed, it received a coat of red primer

Ballast going down to dress the track, the track in these areas are quite stable so a top dressing and shoulder is all that's required.

A bit more involved work on the up line to the boiler house wall, the track required bending as it was more like the big dipper on this stretch. Also sleepers added and ballasted and tamped down
