Here I hope to link some Potential Projects for the Hobby Machinist.
Unfortunately, the first to catch my eye and imagination, are not really suitable for the beginner, but are stellar examples of what CAN be done with patience and perseverance!
These are both extremely significant items from deep history, and as such, would make splendid displays and even possibly provide some enjoyable functionality too!?!?
The first project here presented is Watt's (maybe not his actually) original "First Micrometer", that launched a new wave of precision at a critical time in history!

The second such project is the famous and ancient Antikythera Mechanism, having advanced complex gear trains long before it was previously thought possible.
