A Trip To The Dump
« on: January 26, 2021, 03:22:05 pm »
Went to the dump this morning. This was sitting there saying, "Take me home," so I did.

This afternoon I gave it what it needed: one mounting bolt, two nuts, new belt and disc, and a good cleaning.

Sometimes it's hard to get one's money's worth....😢

I agree, but if you ventured into my sheds or basement, you’d probably be saying it’s amazing what people keep 😂

What an amazing find, congratulations !

The 1x30" belt sander is one of the tools that gets most exercise here....as it is the only grinding tool i am allowed to have stored permanently in the living quarters.
(Was wise enough to buy a leather-belt for it, and swiftly sharpen the kitchen knives, which earned it a space in a kitchen cabinet  ;) )
Cheers

I've kind of legitimatized it here by extolling its virtues as a knife-sharpener.

Great find - amazing what people throw away!

Apparently, this came from an old cottage that someone was "cleaning out." It and a whole raft of tools went to the dump. Almost everything was gone by the time I got there.

I didn't take the table saw, though; too big--and besides, I have one already.

Used this today to sharpen kitchen knives. It's now "wife approved."
