Nice to hear others have also enjoyed archery and have shot various bow types.
I've only tried a compound bow once and if i'm honest it didn't appeal to me.

Compound bows are rather like "contraptions" of some form, but they are amazingly capable, and having such a huge let-off from full draw weight is truly amazing from an engineering standpoint, as well as allowing a more comfortable hold for sighting in bows with powerfully heavy draws. I most prefer the elegance of a sweet recurve myself, though primitive archery also has an appeal to me, so my long bow helped almost fill that spot.
