Electric to gas golf cart conversion.
« on: September 13, 2019, 10:02:59 am »
This is a real easy conversion at least on a Easy-Go cart.

There`s a splined shaft on the rear end and the other splined part in on the electric motor which ya have to cut off weld your sprocket too and put a couple set screws in.
After gutting out where the batteries used to be ya gotta build a frame and platform for the motor, i used a 6.5 hp Predator.
Turned out nice and works good.

Thanks Nick, oh heck yea those six batteries are very expensive and they were all bad.
Ya can buy a Predator engine for around a 100 bucks.
I paid to much for the cart when i bought it as a electric so didn`t want to take a lose on it so this worked out good.

works well Lenn, when I read your opening words "This is a real easy conversion at least on a Easy-Go cart." I chuckled a little bit to myself....this isn't hard for you , but for the rest of us...its way out of our ability, good Job on that my friend.

You did a great job on that one Lenn !

Now you just need to build a frame to hold a few manual reel mowers, and you have the ultimate lawnmower there  ;)

Even has an "automatic transmission!" Hardest part was probably the throttle linkage😁

Thanks Hero, nope the throttle linkage is simple on the Predators they provide all the connections for a cable.
And the foot feet thing i made was pretty simple.  :)

Guess those Predator people (I've never seen one of those engines) are pretty thoughtful.

Nice job Lenn. I have one I need to convert. Spent $700 two times replacing the electric batteries in mine. More than I paid for the thing. Thanks for the inspiration! 🤠

Thanks Charlie hope it works on your model.
These Predator engines only cost about 100- 120.00

That looks like a lot of fun Lenn.

Those predator engines look very much like a Honda GX clone, pretty good value for $100 and certainly a lot cheaper than a set of batteries!

Thanks Swift Fox, time will tell on the engines but they seem to have good reviews.  :)
