Elliptigo
« on: June 06, 2019, 05:10:16 pm »
We love to go biking long distance, but just seen a couple riding these on the trail last week and thought they would be fun on the paved trail around town. Looked on Marketplace and found two today that had both only been used twice by older women that had surgery and were recommended exercise by their doctor. One moved up to the more expensive long stride model, while the other said she didn't know what she was thinking and was far too old for something like this  :D Luckily the first seller lived next to a hilly bike path so I was able to give it a good test drive. They don't take much getting used to and climbing hills is surprisingly easy. I did forget on my test drive that there was no seat and out of habit I tried to sit down to coast down the hill, but there was nothing there  :D

They both took quite a loss from new price, and so far I would say the SUB (blue) is a little easier than the Arc (black)

these are perfect if you have the physique of an Olympian (which you do Nick 😉)
I think I'll have to stick with a seat'ed model 😁

I was relieved to see the photo of the bikes,  I thought you were making an announcement that you had some new rare disease called 'Elliptigo' :(

The lady that upgraded models that we bought the blue one from was a very serious biker. She said something about having fractured both legs and they will never heal right and she had to move up to the long stride model because her knee started to hurt after about 15 miles... If I am taking a 15 mile ride, I am definitely taking my bike with a seat too  :D :D

Haha, yes I am glad that I don't have the Elliptigo disease  ;)  I think the name is a play on words with the exercise machine "the Elliptical" and "go" because, well... it goes  :D

I will wait till I am more familiar with the bike  ;) :D I will have to strap the GoPro onto one sometime when we go riding somewhere like in Duluth along Lake Superior.

Still trying to figure out if I can attach my Burley (kid's trailer) to the back.

Looks like a lot of fun Nick.

Ironically, I watched this video yesterday on unique bike designs:
