I do it just the opposite of what Nick shows here. But then again I only do it for myself and my Lady to heat our own home. This year it has gone especially slow because I had to rebuild the roof of the woodshed (old horse stalls) first, which is a whole 'nother story, before I started hauling, sawing, splitting and stacking wood. Try to do most of the work on cool days so I get the benefit of having the wood "warm" me twice or thrice. Generally wholly non mechanized, I cut with a bow saw and split with axe and wedges. If I were to make an honest video of the process, I'd need to do the opposite of Nick and record it on fast and play it back on slow .... something like watching a snail crawl would be about right ... but it gets done .... eventually.
