Let’s see your Christmas tree!

Some of you may not even put up a tree, but I’d love to see yours if you have one this year!

Haven't even "shot" my turkey yet, so Xmas is not even on the front burner at this point.

Won't be having an actual, formal, indoor tree, in any case but I figure the two Giant Sequoias in the front yard are all I really need along those lines anyway!?!?

Like I said, some may not put one up.

I spent all day putting this one up.. it’s a 12 footer, not even my 10 foot ladder can get to the top, and I manually strung the lights!!

Beautiful tree & lovely warm room.

Thanks, Bruce.

It was a lot of work.  Dreaded it and drank 4 cups of coffee to get the courage to assemble it.  12 footer.

Too early! 😂

I am a huuuuge fan of Christmas, so I was trying to convince my partner to let me put this stuff up the day after Halloween which wasn’t acceptable, so I had to wait a few weeks. I do usually leave Xmas up until mid January, or even late.

Always been a fan of lights and Xmas music, even though right now dealing with bouts of depression;   The lights always help me.

It’s never too early!!!  ;D

I actually used to help decorate too much… my grandparents and aunt who still lived with them would put up a huge drive-thru display on their farm and would get 300-500 cars driving through a night. They collected donations and gave $15-20k to the local ambulance every year, actually earned enough to buy a new ambulance. It would take almost 3 months to set up and I was out their many days driving t-posts, heavy lifting and putting lights on the roofs that they didn’t want to go on. They were going to be on one of those tv shows but grandpa got cancer and passed in September of ‘14, we put the lights up one more winter to show off his final projects and had a night of fireworks out there. The lights are now on display in a park in Iowa after they donated them to a town and my aunt and grandma still travel
down there to help keep things going. Putting up a tree is about enough for me any more 😂

I do have my other grandpas Lionel set and I would like to put that around the tree this year so my kids (his great grandkids) can enjoy it with him. I will be sure to post a picture, but it won’t be till after thanksgiving 😆

Just looked on YouTube and found a bunch of videos by searching “Severson Christmas Lights”

A good majority of it was homemade because being on a farm the decorations had to be bigger. Grandpa never said what the light bill was, just that it was far cheaper after they switched to LED 😂 you could watch the meter spin so fast, you’d swear it was going to start smoking 😂

Top two searches on YouTube (they sent music to your car radio that matched the lights. There were like 20 computers on one of the fences controlling them)

The big singing face at 2:30 was his final big project. He was still climbing a ladder and putting lights on the galvanized cattle shed on the cars right hand side when he was very sick and looked about 90 pounds

Wow....Nick, that is a better display than some of the Indianapolis sponsored, professional displays I have paid $40 to drive a car through with the grandkids.

I’ll have to find the picture from the daylight of the extension cords to power the trees. They filled the entire box of a Colorado pickup with cords from Menards one night and got a thank you letter in the mail for their purchase 😂 I think my aunt spent like 4 or 5 grand on extension cords that night 😂

Grandpa wouldn’t take a dime from anyone driving through, everything donated went to the local ambulance.

I usually put up at least two trees. This year just the one that I left up since last year, minus the
lights and ornaments. They're on it now with the pickle.
