You should have called me, I would have met you at Jensen’s. How did you like those engines that Tom SR made for himself?
They are all wonderful machines!

Yep
I wish I had thought of that. It was 1:00 am when we arrived in Greensburg.

Absolutely, a visit to Jensen is a dream trip all in itself, but I happen to know that you went further afield than that, by quite a lot, so I'll stand by and stay tuned, waiting for the pictures and videos that I am certain sure are yet to come!!!

Thanks for bringing us all along with you Gil!!!

I would have been getting ready for work at 1:00AM. It would have been a good reason to call off.😊😊😊

I’m glad that you are enjoying your self!
Best Regards
John

Here you can see a picture of George Hughes, yours truly, and Paul Debolt.

I also took pictures of some of his machinery.
They have a very impressive shop.

The next leg of our journey brought us further into Ohio and the home of Randy Calhoun... who is most known for developing the Jensen #51 Power Station. For his good friend Tom Jensen Sr., Randy built all but 2 or 3 of the 27 Jensen 51s that were produced.

At Randy's home I brought in our friend Bill's slide valve very early 1930's Jensen Big Power Plant which has a true D-Valve and a 6" diameter riveted boiler. Of course, we had a steam-up with it. This piece came on the road with us with full permissions obtained in advance from Bill.

Here is a video of our steam-up.

Enjoy!

We rolled into Bruce and Angie's place and the fun was non-stop from arrival to departure.

This was an absolute top shelf steam gathering.

Below is a picture of St Paul Steam, Red Ryder, txlabman, and IndianaRog.
AKA  Bruce, Gil, Charlie, and Rog.

This was a real treat. Meeting IndianaRog in person was a great. He and I have exchanged hundreds of e-mails and phone calls for nearly 18 years and I finally got to shake his hand!

The fine gentlemen you see in the photo with me are all of the kind who make a great hobby even better.

Preserving history is always fun, however, it is these kinds of people who make a good hobby great..!!

Bruce polished the heck out of this Jensen 25 and had it nickel plated
