Europe is a great idea and must be accomplished in the future. Regretfully just not right now.

Thank you, Raphael and Arnold!

The first leg of our road trip took us to the home of Jensen Steam Engines.
Here we enjoyed a nice visit with Aleta, Mrs. Jensen (her Mom), and Andy Guy.
I also bought a few parts.

I had previously asked Aleta if she might have a picture of her grandfather, Tom Sr. and Tom Jr. together.
She came up with a gem she allowed me to photograph to share on our forum. It is taken at the big toy fair in New York City in the 1960s. It shows Tom Sr., his wife Mrs. Jensen, and Tom Jr.

Aleta showed us her own very special Jensen 20-S (unfired). Tom Sr. made only a few of these for his grandchildren and one for his good friend Randy Calhoun. The 20-S has a 4" boiler, 2 immersion heaters, a #50 style throttle valve and wheel. The boiler also has 2 site glass windows and a #50 style blow down valve and safety valve, pressure gauge, and of course, a generator.

We also saw a new #50 engine... a work in progress.

After leaving Jensen we went to Debolt Machine to visit with Paul Debolt and George Hughes.

I'll add pictures tomorrow.

You should have called me, I would have met you at Jensen’s. How did you like those engines that Tom SR made for himself?
Best Regards
John
