Portrait of an Australian Pelican
Feeling lucky that I can still take the odd bird photo whilst in lockdown.
Scientific name: Pelecanus conspicillatus

Yes! I wish I could learn how to use a camera as well as Jim

We get plenty of entertainment from the pelicans at the lake and gut-hooked fish

I don't think we get Pelicans in Michigan. I believe we're either too far east of their fly way, or they found out my brother has a recipe for em.
A wonderful picture Jim!
Thanks for sharing it.
I believe that Galveston Bay is the home to one of the largest winter populations of Brown Pelicans in North America.
One of my favorites.
Thanks one and all appreciate the replies.
Nick, thanks for sharing that vid!!
I've seen them grab pigeons and silver gulls and eat them!
