I woke up to 14" of snow this morning, the first snow of the season, and the first time I haven't had to go out and work in it in fifty years. My wife and I have looked forward to this day for many years, and decided it was quite nice to sit in the warmth of our house and to look out at the fresh snow. Of course, I did eventually have to go out and plow the driveway. And then, I played for a while in the snow! [ Guests cannot view attachments ] [ Guests cannot view attachments ]
And here we are in Tweed, Ontario, Canada with no snow yet.
Expecting it soon, though!
Beautiful scenery Doug , be careful out there 😉

We have a “Brown Christmas” quite often... We get snow in October/November, then it melts and just gets cold. Our heaviest snowfalls come in February/March when it starts to warm back up and sometimes all the way into early May.
If it’s cold outside, I want snow!

we were visiting relatives in Ely one year and there was still snow piled up in parking lots on June 22! That was a little hard for me to wrap my mind around!

Haha, you can go through all 4 seasons in one week in MN. Those parking lot snow piles get pretty dirty and ugly late in the season.
I once found an ice cream bucket in the woods on the north side of a tree that was buried under leaves and it was still full of ice and what looked like a little bit of snow in July! Pretty impressive being it was in the 90’s during the day.
