Steve, that is the nicest E101 restoration I have ever seen...better than one I did myself years ago.  I love the base...beats black in my eyes and sort of reminds me of ship's flooring...beautifully done.

Rog
Hello Rog thank you thats praise indeed as i am sure i have seen a picture of that lovely E101 restoration you did. have you still got that engine?
I do all my bases in that scribed planking sometimes i use real boards cut to size, this engine runs very well which may be down to the fact that it may have been a non runner for a lot of its life as both inlet and exhaust pipes were blocked with solder and the piston cylinder cover would not allow the piston rod to travel properly so this engine would never have run at in that state...Steve

Steve, I kept that E101 of mine for a number of years, but alas it has gone on to another loving home.

Steve, unlike yourself, I have turned my collection a number of times over the years.  Last count I had sold more than 100 pieces...numbers go up and down with time and interest.  I believe I have about 27 total now and that has been stable for nearly a year!

Great resto Steve!

Hello Jim i am very pleased how it turned out considering the mess it was in, i reused all of the original parts except the non standard base....the bent pipework was fun to straighten out ;D....Steve

Steve, you need to take us on a tour of your steam room .... and not just of the steam engines either!   ;c)

Thank you Gil i have been waiting for one of these to turn up for ages, so i am glad it turned out well...here is a picture of the engine fitted with a steam control valve which makes running it much more enjoyable.
I have been running the engine so much it needs a complete clean up ::)...Steve

Spectacular work, Steve. And it looks beautiful with your signature plank floor base. You have yet again rescued and revived what was surely DOA. Bravo!

Hello Benny i thought it was u/s when i first opened the box but on inspection everything was there except a couple of bits, i then realised i had a bargain on my hands with a bit of hard work.
The planking is really so i can run many different engines and boilers together and make them look as if they all part of the same diorama in a simple way of course, an example would be running my Stuart steam plant which has oak plank boarding as seen in the pic below....i could add the Bowman E101 running as part of the same set up and it would look like it was meant to be there...Steve
