It is finished !
I would like to give a shout out of thanks to Randy Tucker for his assistance in this restoration.
because of the unusually long axle & the snug fit of the generator magnet on the axle, this took a little bit of adjusting to keep the armature from rubbing the horseshoe magnet. my other challenge was , after I got it all together I noticed a crack in the cylinder wall (very common problem with these old flat end cylinder caps) moreover the soldered joint between the cylinder & steam chest was porous and loosing steam all along the solder joint, it was so bad that I couldn't hold my finger under the steam cylinder without incurring a steam burn (found this when running pinky around to see if I had a seepage leaks) I touched up the entire joint & fixed the problem , the engine would run the light but I knew it should have more power, after touching up the solder I believe I gained 30-40% more power , prior to repairing the joint when I closed the throttle it only had slight resistance to flipping the flywheel over by hand...after the repair it had a more solid lock up of the flywheel when the throttle was in the closed position.\(I am telling you all this ,so if anybody else has this problem you can diagnose it.)
Here it Tis...
