Winding Nichrome wire
« on: December 26, 2024, 05:32:23 pm »
I read through some of the posts on here regarding winding nichrome wire to for heating elements.  Is anything used to insure that the wires do not touch each other when windings are very close together?  Perhaps covering the windings with heat proof adhesive to secure them to the mica board.  My thought is that after winding a predetermined length of wire then securing it to the bottom of a boiler the windings may come in contact with another for just securing it to the boiler.  Thanks in advance!

Here is a few posts to look over - these are for Empire heaters.  It is fairly easy to remake them.  Don't need anything like adhesive, the ribbon stays in place on the mica.
