It was a machined kit.  I'll try adjusting anything that can be adjusted.
There is no denying the play in the bearing.  I'll run it at a low speed
and readjust the screws holding the end-caps on.

Well, no joy.  Everything is correct.  I'll have to reach out to PM on Monday.
