Be interesting to hear what the experts say, I'd have just stuck it back together dry, it is just rubber gaskets isn't it ?

Dry should work, but a thin bead of pipe joint compound (the old-style curded Teflon type would be my preference), might not go amiss.

Cheers, the original ones I pulled out where both cork, I didn't realise until I opened the package that these are rubber/silicone or the like.

Jim - very cool idea - you cut a hole in the rear cabin
to handle the small screws - top solution and it
still looks perfect.

Thanks all....yes life was too short for buggering around trying to get those screws in. Simple method was
to drill that hole and make a removable coal scuttle.

Thanks guys, I did try for a long time before getting a stepped cone drill bit and it was just utterly a frustrating experience.

This roller has so many problems.....I thought one more won't matter all that much.
