Ha ha Bruce! I had nothing to do with this boiler. Too bad, an original destroyed! Had to be a very early Tom Jensen Sr. built boiler. It makes me sad.
This may be hard to make out, but here is a 6" long boiler that I also worked on.
As you can see in the picture, I am holding the steam line bushingbback into it's original position.
Rare inside view of the boiler.
Lower bushing soldered back in along with the top. I even pulled the dent back out of the top.
Never a dull moment at your place, Jed!
Looking forward to seeing how you install the rivets on this boiler.

Doug, I most likely won't show how I do this. It will be rather crude in terms of locating and drilling the holes. I do not have an indexing head, so it will be doing the math and laying them out.
Great work! I will be watching this thread with interest and anticipation. Thanks for posting progress.
Nice job Jed.
What size gaskets did you use on the sight glass?
Charlie, I made my own out of thicker gasket material. Something I bought from NAPA.
Nice Work Jed!

And I can't wait to see the reproduction boiler...
Those early 25's without the reverser sure are smooth runners
Are the rivets just soldered in place and not hammered on the inside? Thanks for sharing Your build
From what I can see, just soldered.
This is my first test.
Then the 5" long 2 1/2 dia boiler.
