Thanks Bruce, I went ahead and ordered one anyway to save for my 45 in case it dies, but it looks like it’s just too big for the D.K.
I’m getting a max of 2.845”
There is a chance the base’s hole for the heater could be enlarged to 3 - 1/16”, maybe even 3 - 1/8”, but that would be pushing it and as you say the heater would be trimmed down to just a thin wall as well...
Maybe I’ll take a chance and try to find an even smaller hot plate on ebay...
By the way, if you had to disassemble another one, you better start restoring another 45

lol....I already put it back together, just how I am.
Hey Bruce @St Paul Steam, what were the dimensions of this new burner that you found? And what’s the smallest diameter you can trim it down to? Wondering if it will work in my new D.K.
I was wondering the same thing Nick for my DK. 🤠
A great build thread Bruce.
I hope you will do more in the future.
It’s great for Novices like me to be able to learn from a Master Restorer.
What type of Solder and Flux did you use on the bushings?

I’ll let you know if I find a smaller one...

#8 solder & the appropriate flux, I do prefer liquid flux.
