Hi,

A bit of a disaster at the Cardiff Model Engineering Society's Garden Railway, the high winds of last week caused a bough to fall from a tree and it landed on the track of the garden railway.  Yesterday I went to inspect the damage and while there another member was testing a model he has nearly finished.

Take care Tony.

Quite a bit of damage from the winds! That's an interesting model locomotive.

The club certainly have their work cutout for them to bring it all back to normal.
Very job your friend did on his engine.

Hi Tommy,

The club certainly have their work cutout for them to bring it all back to normal.

The CMES is in a public park and we have no liability for the trees, that is down to the owners of the land, Cardiff City Council whose insurance covers them.  The problem is how soon the tree can be removed because until it is, nothing can be done in the way of repairs, too dangerous and the felling could cause more damage, I will be surprised if it doesn't. The bough fell a week ago today but I suspect it will be sometime before anything will be done.

Take care Tony.
