Great video Nick. I wonder if the corks are swelling in the hot moisture. I seen you grabbed some at hardware.

Some nice engines Nick , I admittedly know so very little about Buckman steam engine's, you are educating me mightily.😀👍

Wish I knew more about them, don’t even know if they’re all Buckmans, but I will call them that till I’m corrected  :D  (I believe my boat is made by Union Mfg. who took over?)

Great idea on the heat shield Nick.

I have copies of some of the early Buckman catalogs. I will take a look in the morning.

It is really a treat to see these steaming.

I don’t think folks really appreciate how hard it is to get these 19th century engines to run. You are batting 1000% so far.

With the low flame and the sides of the heat shield angled in, I could still touch the cast frame, so there was no damage to the paint.

I have never seen much literature on these engines... would be great if there was more out there
