I found this one at an estate sale. It is located south of Atlanta(safely far away), and is going to be bid on all weekend until Sunday evening. The agent said some time would be allowed for the move.
I've done some research on this, it is and old transfer caboose for Southern Railroad, # X533. Weighing in at a staggering 65000 lbs and standing 17 ft with a length of 38 ft. It looks rough cosmetically, with window sashes rotted out and rust. The interior looks ok, and looks like it is wired for 110. Still has the old coal burning stove inside. It would make a wicked awesome guest house, especially for kids(or grandkids!) Or an even better man cave.
You will only need 2 45 ton lift cranes(or 4 really- 2 at pickup and 2 at deliery), 2 semi with flatbeds(one for trucks, one for body), and 2 pilot cars. Don't forget to secure your oversize load permits, and plan your route to avoid the hotspots of the rebellion.
Today, my hopes of ever owning a railcar were smashed on the rocks of my rather insolvent white privelege.
