Since I run my engines on steam, I intend to install drain cocks on the cylinder, as it makes life easier.
You might consider fitting a warm up valve, which is what I often do. It is very simple, a valve is arranged that connects the steam passageway to the exhaust passageway in the port block. When open it allows steam to bye pass the cylinder straight to atmosphere, in doing so it allows any condensed water and old oil in the steam pipes to exit and it warms up the engine to reduce further condensing. In most cases the valve need to be open only a few seconds before straight steam comes from the exhaust.
