Super glue will work. I have made a couple dozen o-rings over the years for my employer but I am not an expert. From my limited experience there are at least 3 types of o-ring splice kits, the basic uses CA glue, mid grade uses flexible CA glue and I had a job that requires high grade splice that Vulcanized the splice, it used controlled heat and chemicals to "melt" the o-ring cord together, this was by far the most flexible joint but it was expensive equipment for industrial use.
The short video I am going to try to attach shows a basic kit that could easily be self made with stuff you have in the shop.
