Had to pay over the top for this one, but everything about it says it is a brother to my John Coleman built Stuart S-50

I had it for $160 for what seemed like 30 seconds, but the auctioneer kept it going and then the bidding took off
I let these two go for bargain prices as I was saving my pennies for the #7

That walking beam seems like a bargain!

Some nice & (& expensive) hardware on the PMR #7 Nick , its as decked out as I've seen one of those. The Stuart beam & #9 went for bargain prices.

Both the beam and #9 seem to have gone for well less than half of what they perhaps should have gone for, and if the build quality on them is as good as they look, then maybe really only a third or even a quarter of their true worth!?!?

I already have a very nice 9 built by Jed so wasn’t too interested in adding another, but I am still after a good Stuart beam and it was very hard to watch that one go as cheap as it did! Even with $100 shipping and 30% premium it was still a bargain… probably a $1000-1200 engine

Congrats Nick, nice addition to your collection - the beam and 9 where under there value.
I joined the Ladenburger online Auction and there I have seen the steal of the year:
https://www.spielzeugauktion.de/catalogs/15401/categories/0/pages/4?lang=de&
Nr. 177 - a Stuart Victoria with Regulator, a Steam driven water pump, a Steam condenser
and the top of the line Boiler "Baden" (gas powered).
The Hammer price was 160 Euros - this was once the price for the Manometer and Safety Valve!!!

Hi Nick, Nice engine package and the governor set-up clearly has John Coleman written all over it. However John was a very well educated engineer and would not likely stick a whistle on a steam chest so that may have been the owner's idea.

The Beam & #9 would have been terrific buys.
