Jim, what is that gorgeous wood you use for plinths I love the color and grain.

Hi Rog, its called Merbau some call it Pacific Teak its a tropical mangrove tree. Its resistant to weather and termites and is used pretty intensively for flooring and pergolas etc in Oz.
I like it because it stays straight and doesn't cup or warp and takes a varnish or oil finish very nicely.
