lovely engines Bob, I think I have a Rudy beam engine video somewhere.
I made the beam engine myself. The beam and other green parts are made from the case of an old VCR, and the column is an old towel rack. The flywheel is the only commercially-made part.
The traction engine came to me advertised as having a new silver-soldered boiler. That was a lie, and I ended up making a real silver-soldered boiler as well as re-working all of the piping and the throttle plus lubricator system. Worth it, though, as it runs fine now....

Thanks. I tried to post a full size image but I failed every time. Anyway, I did not make this engine and when it arrived
It had many problems. I worked on it till I got it running. Repainted it and made the lubricator.

Mine however... was a poor ebay purchase based on one small and fuzzy picture

Many thanks, Nick. I've always liked the traction engines, as they're mobile but don't need tracks.
At one point I had a complete set of plans and castings for a 1/4 scale Case, but I had to sell them, both because my lathe wasn't big enough and because I realized I just didn't have the skill to build it, especially the boiler. A real pity, though, as, ironically, I have since acquired a complete Case boiler in copper (a bargain I couldn't pass up).

Equally ironically, about a year before I bought the castings, I had sold a never-fired steel boiler for a 2-inch Case that had fallen into my clutches at a flea market, but of course then I didn't have the castings.

Not bad for a Stirling engine
One of the problems was the main bearings as designed they moved about like rotten teeth. Instead of two separate parts I made it from one piece
I may have made the problem worse as I did away withl most of the dead space in Rudys design and it did boost the engines power
It now has the fire box and other bits n bobs that were missing in the video but just never got round to painting it a job I dislike thats why my engines tend to have worked finish
Thought I had a couple of others then remembered they are P Duclos engines

This is a over crank engine designed by Rudy Kouhoupt , I made two and one was sold to a collector in Baden . This was my 3rd and 4th engines my first was a stirling and my second was a Stuart 10V, no need for anyone to see those .
Another nice one Jeff! Built in a very good year as well
