Posting some photos here for Jack
@SEUSA as per his request in another thread on the For Sale Board, as seen here:
https://www.officeofsteamforum.com/classifieds-for-sale/jensen-85g/msg53911/?topicseen#msg53911Received October 01, 2018, after having heard about them from Jan (Classics) on another steam forum back about late August 2018 if I recall correctly.
Of those received by others, mine seems to have been about the last to arrive, perhaps because I live on the Left end of this continent ... in more ways than one!
In any case, here ya go:

That's a nice one. I have seen these many times and have always wondered the same thing every time, why.
Why was Jensen involved or did some other company just buy a bunch of 85s and put it on a base with a
generator and light? What was being promoted?
Thanks, Tommy.

My best guess has always been that it was a small-scale distributor in Israel who made a small batch purchase (15 units) of a custom Jensen 85G for some intended resale market ..... possibly public schools or the like.
I should add that other than the label, and the two polarity pins sticking up through the baseboard, these are actually a stock Jensen product, though a rather uncommon one, and having the Jensen 15e generator definitely gives it a different flavor.
Thanks for the info Stocker.
Ok.
Yes this is out of the same batch of 15 sent to Israel.
When I spoke to Dorita she shared information about building the as a special order.
The interest part is if memory serves me correctly it was when John Foskett was involved.
He was making odd ball engines like the 55G deluxe and others.
Interesting times for sure.
You have a very nice example of the 15 85G's Jensen build.
A gem for sure.
Also with 100% certainty these were built completely at Jensen.
Dorita herself shared with me she wired the two posts on each of the 15 boards. They were a special order that were built and shipped at one time.
The only thing the company in Israel did was stick their label on them when the arrived.
The only thing no one seems to know is why none were sold in Israel.
The were never used. Everyone one still had the oil, whistle, valve etc sealed in the plastic bag and all original packing.
Preserved for two decades.
Amazing.
.... and another interesting mystery is why they used such different labels (three different styles if I recall correctly) on only fifteen engines? You'd think they'd have at least fifteen of the same labels for these!?!?
As I recall, there were also two different housing covers for the Jensen 15e generators, black like mine, and a brownish tone also, I think.
There are black, copper and silver 15E’s, two different plastic housings as well. Don’t know what all was used on the Israeli 85’s
I have two of the fifteen and both of mine are identical with the Israeli tags. I’ll include a photo from the eBay listing that shows 12 of the 15 piled up. The ones I have are marked with an x.
Mike.
You also got one those nice flyers.
Only a couple boxes had them.
I have one that is on a slightly different base. [ Guests cannot view attachments ]
