Many Many thanks.
I had found the 4010 much older and then some new HO Marklin electric.
Many thanks for also sharing the catalog image.
I dont really want to do much to this loco at all But Paint [heat safe] maybe a while down the road, I rather like the original look.
Its no longer sticky and I ran 3 rinses of engine degreaser [enamel safe] thru the boiler and steam chests. It turned the red liquid into milky coffee sludge. It now flushes clear.
I have vintage 30s marx track and 30s lionel carsnthat will go perfect for a video I hope to film this afternoon and post tonight for allnto ejoy.
Cheers
Many thanks again skeptic49

This appears to be an R 4010. From the Schiffmann Sammerkatalog: "with eccentric - 36 (cm,) black hand painting reversal, 2 fixed double-acting cylinders act on the rear axle, drive rods, gallery rods, (1929 - 1932.)"
Great find, an early Marklin American market live steamer. Here's a page from the Marklin 1930 catalog showing the R 4010.
