I always found yahoo rubbish.
I first used the email system given by my provider, had no problems with that.
The only problem with that, is that the email address only can be used as long as you are with that provider.
But it's sometimes wise to change your provider, as I did about a year ago.
And than you have a big problem, all accounts that address was attached to, all people who are in contact with you must be notified.
And still after a year I now and than have difficulties with that.
So an IT specialist advised me to use a gmail address.
And up until now gmail works perfect for me and every member of the family can have their own address.
Should I now decide to change provider, I still can keep my address.
So to me gmail was the perfect solution.
And if you think that non of the providers is using your data for commercial proposes you will be very disappointed.
The moment you come onto the net some cookies are dropped onto your computer.
And no privacy act can keep control over that.
What really is a nuisance lately is the spam I receive from phony postal serves.
Crooks send you false mails that you need to pay for customs etc. using names of existing postal providers.
Luckily the system drops them strait into the spam files.
But these mails can be so confusing as I receive a lot of parcels.
But mails being so realistic like that, will rip off people, special older people who already have great trouble using a computer.
Top of the bill was a phone call, probably coming from India.
This guy was threatening me that my computer was going to crash, if I didn't use his services.
So I played bluff poker, told him I was an IT specialist trekking his call, I already could see he was for the Bombay area and I still needed a few second to pinpoint his address and than would reporting him to the police, strange enough he lay down the phone
Bombay was a wild guess, I recently red an article that most of these phony calls come from there…
Cheers,
Danny
