I agree. Some people are either uninformed or greedy.

But just you wait till it has its lagging, etc.

New gauge glass now. Fittings checked or refurbished. Furnace end painted with high-temperature paint. Only one small weep in the feed water check valve.

.Starting to look better, too, what with the jatoba wood lagging held on for now with double-sided tape.

Already makes a great paperweight!

That appears to be a massively thick walled boiler. If it is all built to that standard it will take a whole lot of BTUs to make steam, but once made it will keep on steaming for a long time!

Yeah. I haven't yet given much thought to a burner (it came without one), but I have this vision of a 20lb propane tank somewhere in there....

Getting closer.

Still needs gauge and safety valve (have both), chimney and burner (have to make both), pipe lagging, and various fittings to connect it all to an engine.

I envision it as a stationary steam source for various engines.

Looking good, sir. I'm with Charlie- ready to see this monster run something. It certainly looks capable.

You clean it up a 100% and the lagging turned out great.

Made chimney, made burner, added pressure gauge and other fittings.

Ready to connect to a steam engine.
