Bruce meant to ask do you know how to join Mamod ones that are unjoined not sure but i think they are metal

One end is usually tapered and you simply screw it into the other end of the spring. To prevent them from "unscrewing" put a couple twists counter-clockwise in the spring before screwing together.

If both ends are the same size, simply bend some hook/loops in each end so they can be hooked together.
