Weeden No.103 with Missing Brushes
« on: 10 hours ago »
Yesterday I received my Lot of Weeden Electric engines.  None of them ran out of the box, most of them just needed properly cleaning and alignment.  Two needed wiring patches but the No.103 is going to be a challenge.  I have it running with a proof of concept for standoffs, brush positions, and wiring.  The trick is getting standoffs and then making the brushes (phosphor bronze sheet).

If I was a machinist making two brass standoffs with slits & set screw to secure the brushes would likely be child's play - yet another time I wished I was a machinist LOL  That all said, the Weeden No.103 runs again, granted a bit in a dodgy way.

Pretty sure the No.103's brush assembly is the same as my Weeden No.1
